Meral here moi!
Many people also know me as Merkku. I'm the newest addition to MTTC and I think I share the title of the youngest player on the team.
I jumped on the MTTC bandwagon on 6.10. and my fingers are already itching to get in on the action. First of all, I would like to thank the whole MTTC team for their willingness to take on such a partner, who is still in his infancy. This is also the reason why I wanted to join the MTTC bandwagon. A team that works well together (we together), provides opportunities (towards growth) and is open (courageously vulnerable) and acts according to its theses. As a former top athlete (basketball), I have spent my whole life playing in different teams in Finland and Europe, and therefore a close-knit and functional team is an inviting and natural thing for me. MTTC is everything it says and advertises itself to be, which is why it was so easy to find a common playing field.
One that is particularly close to my heart at the moment is the trendy word that everyone loves. change management. Change management has been important to me ever since I first entered the world of work, this kind of office life. As a basketball player and team athlete, change management is about working together every day, training, communicating with others, winning and losing together - everything that makes a team work the way it does. On the field, all that change management is everyday, and it's not talked about as change management.
Leadership development is also high on my list of priorities. Poor management has been highlighted in the media, particularly this summer. My own reflections on this topic can really be divided into three questions:
- What is bad management? How does it manifest itself in practice?
- Why are we obedient and to the point Finns still unfinished leaders? What are we leading, what should we be leading?
- What can we concretely do in everyday life to improve people's performance at work, increase their commitment to their employers and thereby contribute to the growth of companies?
These are the questions that I want More Than Training Company to answer.
I have one big (secret) dream that I would like to reveal to you here: to make Finnish leaders so great that international companies would call and ask our leaders for help. A big dream, I know. But isn't it true that if you're not intimidated by the goals, they're not big enough?
I want to help our customers to drive change from start to finish. To help them understand why this “buzzword”, change management, is actually an essential and important part of success, whether it's day-to-day development projects or strategy implementation across the organisation. I also want to simplify it. Although change management is rarely simple, once you break it down into its component parts and gain a greater understanding of it, it no longer seems like a terribly big and unnecessary thing. At best, it saves the company millions. 😉
Here I am, on the brink of something new, a little excited, a little stressed maybe, but also super excited, I can't wait to share my growth stories with you readers! So from now on, you can reach me by calling, texting, FaceTime, Whatsapp, Linkkar, or just emailing, whatever you feel is the best way to connect. 😊
